Jababeka Receives Property Guru Award for Working on Silicon Valley, is it worth it?

MEDIAPATRIOT.CO.ID – Bekasi, November 2022 – Jababeka Residence received the Best Mega Township Development award at the PropertyGuru 2022 event for the development of the Correctio project which is believed to be The Next Silicon Valley in Indonesia. In addition, Setyono Djuandi Darmono as Chairman & Founder of Jababeka Tbk Industrial Estate received Indonesia’s Real Estate Personality of the Year award. This also confirms Jababeka that received two prestigious awards in the PropertyGuru 2022 event.
The dream of creating Silicon Valley in Indonesia has been continuously rolled out by several developers over the last few decades, but the real ocular proof has never been seen. So, what makes Jababeka’s Silicon Valley megaproject, Correctio, deserves this award? PropertyGuru revealed that the Best Mega Township Development assessment indicators consist of ideas, concepts, and current conditions.

The idea to develop Correctio starts from Jababeka’s mission to create an Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 ecosystem which combines startups, industry, research institutions, venture capital, government, technology solutions providers, and leading manufacturers in one area. This idea is emphasized in a concept called the three pillars of Correctio, which includes Society 5.0., Industry 4.0., and TOD (Transit Oriented Development).
The third assessment indicator is Correctio’s current condition. Since the first semester of 2022,
Jababeka has taken various concrete actions progressively to realize this area. The development of Correctio has also been supported by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil. As a graduate of UC Berkeley, a university in Silicon Valley, California, the Governor who is often called Kang Emil said three factors contributed to the success of Silicon Valley development, namely:

Being in a corridor that is connected to the surrounding area
Silicon Valley needs to be in an area with complete infrastructure that can connect its community with other surrounding areas. Located in the Jakarta – Bandung corridor, Correctio is in the right location because it has similarities with Silicon Valley in California, flanked by the cities of San Jose and San Francisco. In addition, Correctio is surrounded by complete infrastructures such as LRT, MRT, and fast trains and is surrounded by several toll gates.
Has many educational institutions
Since 1940, Silicon Valley in the United States developed as a technology center through the contribution of top university graduates. The presence of President University and FabLab Correctio as integrated creative hub in Cikarang are believed to accommodate these needs. In addition, Kang Emil stated that he was willing to connect foreign universities that planning to open branches in Indonesia to be placed at Correctio.
It must be comfortable to live in
The idea of Silicon Valley is not only about developing technology but also creating a comfortable ecosystem for the community to do all kinds of activities. Correctio is equipped with various facilities such as theaters, culinary facilities, green open spaces, health and fitness facilities, as well as facilities for pedestrians and cyclists. All these facilities are provided to support the continuity of the Live, Work, and Play community. Jababeka has also launched CORE, the first commercial and residential product at Correctio with the SOHO (Small Office Home Office) concept.

Marcus Lee as Managing Director of PT.Grahabuana Cikarang stated that his party was working on a startup hackathon program to fill the Correctio ecosystem, “We will be holding Fab-Creation 2022, Startup Hackathon Day on 16-18 November 2022 involving 125 startups from all over the country. In this event, we recruited startups whose ideas could be utilized by 2,000 industry players in Jababeka.”, explained Marcus Lee.
Jababeka has also succeeded in collaborating with several partners to realize Correctio ranging from local to international partners, namely BRIN, Indogen, BISA AI, Telkomsel, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Auk Industries, Gamatechno, Arcstone, Sembcorp, and PIDI of the Ministry of Industry.
Even though the property sector is still experiencing several challenges and dynamics, Jababeka continues to show its performance by making such prestigious achievements. This award has also succeeded in bringing Jababeka to the PropertyGuru Asia Property Award 2022 in Bangkok, representing Indonesia to compete with other big Asian developers.
