The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has once again taken decisive action in the war on drugs by destroying *132.16 kilograms* of methamphetamine seized from four drug-related criminal cases, with a total of 132,303 grams—or 132.3 kg—of methamphetamine initially seized as evidence. Of the total methamphetamine evidence, 136 grams were set aside for laboratory testing and as evidence in legal proceedings.

*1. Uncovering a Transnational Drug Network via Air Couriers*
On April 29, 2026, a joint task force of the BNN and Customs and Excise successfully apprehended two air couriers, identified by the initials AA and DN, at Terminal 1C of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten. The two suspects, who were found to be using false identities, were apprehended along with 3,990 grams of methamphetamine intended for distribution in the Lombok region and surrounding tourist areas.
*2. Methamphetamine Intended for Distribution in the Greater Jakarta Area Successfully Seized*
The next bust took place on May 2, 2026, targeting three couriers identified by the initials MF, AH, and AM in Central Jakarta. During the search, officers seized 7,172 grams of methamphetamine that was being divided and repackaged in a hotel room for distribution in the Jabodetabek area. Based on further investigation, this network was found to be controlled by a fugitive identified by the initials KB.
*3. Faturahman’s Fugitive Drug Network Busted, 92 Kilograms of Meth Seized*
The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) successfully dismantled Faturahman’s fugitive drug network in East Kalimantan. During the operation, officers arrested four suspects identified as IP, RA, RM, and MA on Thursday (May 7). From the search, officers confiscated 92,226 grams of methamphetamine and 1,000 vape cartridges containing 1,000 milliliters of etomidate. In carrying out their activities, the perpetrators used two vehicles. One vehicle served as an escort, while the other was used to transport the narcotics, which were hidden inside suitcases and boxes lined with black plastic.
*4. Interprovincial Methamphetamine Trafficking Thwarted in Bogor*
A joint team from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and Customs and Excise successfully uncovered an illicit methamphetamine trafficking network linking Aceh and Bogor on Tuesday (May 19), around 4:30 a.m. local time, in the parking lot of a minimarket in Parung Panjang, Bogor. During the operation, officers apprehended three suspects—TA, Y, and I—and seized approximately 29 kilograms of methamphetamine packaged in green Chinese tea bags hidden inside the suspects’ vehicle.
The case was uncovered following a tip from the public regarding a narcotics shipment from Langsa, Aceh, bound for the Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi (Jabodetabek) area via land routes and the Bakauheni–Merak ferry crossing. A joint task force comprising the BNN’s Interdiction Directorate, Intelligence Directorate, Customs and Excise, the South Sumatra Provincial BNN, and the Banten Provincial BNN then conducted surveillance all the way to Bogor. After the target vehicle was abandoned in Parung Panjang and the suspects proceeded toward Soekarno-Hatta Airport, officers moved to apprehend all suspects along with the evidence and transport them to the BNN office for further examination and investigation.
The destruction of the narcotics evidence from these four cases is part of the BNN’s ongoing efforts to break the chain of illicit drug trafficking in Indonesia. The BNN, together with all stakeholders, will continue to strengthen preventive measures, enforcement actions, and cross-sectoral cooperation to limit the operational space of drug networks. It is hoped that these joint efforts will help realize a resilient, healthy, and drug-free Indonesia.
